I love old photos. . . especially old photos of my parents and grandparents, etc. . . They obviously lived the classic Depression Farm Life, and worked so very hard. My paternal grandparents ran a little country store (photos to come), and my grandmother could never turn anyone away that couldn't pay. She was just so big-hearted. . . they ALL were. They were very proud people, and although they didn't have a lot, they had enough. They paid their bills on time, and saved back for hard times. And, of course, with 8 and 9 kids, they HAD to be frugal. Here is a picture of my mother's family, taken just before they left for church. My Grandpa had his "good" overalls on, and all the kids except my mom (the little bitty blonde) and the baby, had shoes on. They were clean, but you could tell they wore hand-me-downs. I just want to pick my mama up and kiss her little fat cheeks and squeeze her hard!
